Happy Birthday to the #bestguitaristever Steve Lukather!

Los Angeles, Cedar Sinai: on 21st October 1957 Steven Lee Lukather decided it was the right day to see the light.
Founder member of TOTO (and the only one who played on every 15 incarnation of the band!) , incredible studio musician ( HE has probably played on your favorite Artist’s hits : Michael Jackson, Joe Cocker, Miles Davis, Don Henley, Kiss, Ringo Starr, Diana Ross, Alice Cooper Elton John, Aretha Franklin, John Wetton, Greg Lake, Asia… and it goes on and on.. and on!!) author of the best seller ” The Gospel According to Luke” guitarist of Ringo All Starr Band.
It was 9th February 1964 when he saw the Beatles on the “Ed Sullivan Show” and since then, he knew what was the dream he had to fulfill.
And he did work so hard to chase that dream!
He was a shy guy and the guitar was some kind of his superpower, a loyal friend that helped him through tough times, and the key to a 45+ year successful career, loaded with tons of “pinch me moment” ( he played with Michael Jackson.. Paul McCartney.. George Harrison, who was even his friend!) and guess what, he is still one of the greatest guitarist ever!
14 studio albums with Toto and 8 in his solo career, his touch is simply unique, passionate, soulful.
A war machine, there is nothing he cannot do with his guitar.
Just to pick one, his last work is a 70, raw, vibed album styled in 2021, something you just don’t hear anymore, don’t miss my review of that masterpiece here:
He is the right man in the right place, a humble incredible human being that sometimes seems not to know how worthy he is and how many people loves him.
A legend (and he would just say come on, stop!) with a golden heart.
This year he was on the road with ToTo with an incredible talented new lineup ( and with the All Starr band too, even if covid hit Ringo twice and stopped the tour), he just never disappoint, he was just born for it.
Go see him playing on stage: effortless, it comes naturally, it’s just his essence.
Next year Toto will be touring with Journey again from February till April.. the best is yet to come.
